Adinkra: ANI BRE A ENSO GYA

Dress: Custom Designed by Me// Shoes: Coach// Earrings: My mothers closet// Lip shade: Berry Couture

Adinkra are symbols originating from Akan people of Ghana with special meaning. The symbols are used as evocative messages for conveying traditional messages. The print in this outfit is dubbed Ani brea nso gya, which translates loosely to no matter how red-eyed (serious) one becomes, one's eyes will not spark flames.

It is a symbol of self-containment, self discipline and self control. It is a reminder that one should be calm and controlled in all situations.
